I received my Rocket two days after ordering...amazing! It was well packaged, and undamaged I opened the packaging to reveal my beautiful kayak. It was perfect! I have put my Rocket on a small pond initially one day, then twice on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas. I had a fantastic time cruising through the waters listening to the sounds of nature, relaxing and enjoying the sights while peddling my fin driven kayak. This kayak is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! Easy to assemble, and it fits nicely into my 2025 Subaru Outback! The major selling point for me was the fact that I could transport this kayak INSIDE my vehicle instead of on top of the vehicle. I am 100 percent pleased with the performance of the kayak, as well.
Satisfied with delivery, assembly and performance. Out 4 times so far on 3 different river/lakes. Fin drive handled some weedy sections with the rudder up and some help with the paddle. I would not be comfortable with this kayak in heavy traffic open water bays like we have on Long Island NY. Portability easy in my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Generally good, it is set up well for fishing. However, I would have purchased a smaller model if I had it to do over. I have to remove the rudder to get the back section to fit in my 2015 Tacoma without setting it in on its side and at an angle. Also, it has more drag in the water than my smaller peddle drive kayak. The fin drive has built in stops that keep them from traveling the full range of motion - this means the fins cannot be held against the bottom of the kayak when in very shallow water. Finally, the seat risers are not very secure in the highest setting - if you lean over, the chair could slip out - I just use the bottom setting.
My very first kayak. I have never owned any type of water craft. I love this thing. I am mostly in the Thousand Island which is part of the Indian River Lagoon. A few days ago I pedaled into the wind and my rocket did very well. Plan to fish in this area very soon. See my pics on Facebook.
I love this thing! We put it in the back of the truck and take it camping. The wife and I can go for lake cruises and do a little fishing while we tour the local lakes. I can also take go fishing in the solo configuration and enjoy a nice day on the water. It has been a blast so far.
