    Just like any specialized gear, the Raptor makes a few smart trade-offs to perform at its best. Its slimmer, more nimble design provides excellent maneuverability and is super stable when you're seated, though it requires a little more balance to stand up and fish—a minor issue that's easily fixed with a pair of inexpensive stabilizers. While it doesn't include a recessed transducer mount this can be attached to an arm on the rail, and it has a two-position seat (forward or back) comfortably fits a wide range of heights, but not as wide a range as a seat on rails.

Yes. Remove the middle section and use just the front and rear sections to get a 2-piece solo kayak. Both configurations use the same modular clip system — switch between solo and tandem in minutes with no tools.

At 14ft fully assembled, the kayak ships in 3 sections — front and back about 55″ × 31″ each (27–30 lbs), middle about 58″ × 32.5″ (37.5 lbs). The sections fit in most full-size SUVs, minivans, and pickup beds. It requires more cargo space than the 2-section solos — check your vehicle's cargo length before ordering.

520 lbs usable (611 lbs total hull capacity). Designed for two adult anglers plus gear. Plan around the loaded weight including paddlers, tackle, electronics, and catch.

The Raptor Tandem is 14ft vs the Rocket Tandem at 13.8ft — virtually the same length. Both are 3-section modular tandems that convert to solo. The Raptor Tandem is slightly narrower and lighter; the Rocket Tandem has a slightly wider beam and higher capacity (550 lbs vs 520 lbs). Choose by drive preference, capacity needs, and color availability.

Yes. Select your preferred drive type — fin for quiet stealth fishing, propeller for instant reverse and current control. The drive choice applies to both pedaling stations on the tandem.

Yes. The Raptor Tandem accommodates two pedal drives running simultaneously — one in the front cockpit and one in the rear. Both pedalers move the kayak together.

About 5–10 minutes once familiar. The three sections interlock at two seams and clip with no tools required. Solo configuration (front + back only) takes the same ~5 minutes as a 2-piece kayak.

But it’s always been unattainable, either too expensive to make the purchase or unwieldy to haul around. But then I found ReelYaks. This modular tandem Raptor kayak has been a dream come true. As a single kayak, the pieces are remarkably lightweight. They join together incredibly easily. I’m on the water within 10 minutes of having parked the truck. Both halves fit perfectly in the back of my five-foot truck bed. The extra section that creates the tandem kayak is a bit heavier, but I can still handle it by myself. Build the tandem by the water because it is very heavy to move even with two people. The pedal propeller has been great. It is annoying to get out of the boat when in shallow water or weeds as you can never seem to get the joke and find aligned, but the control, power, and speed it provides on the water are worth it. The accessories, the build quality, the whole experience in owning this kayak has been amazing.
