I have taken my new Reel Yaks Rocket kayak out several times already. Overall, I am very pleased with the solid nature of the kayak and the size. It does break down and fit into my small SUV and that was a big selling point for me. When I put the two pieces together and out on the water you definitely don't even think about it being a modular kayak. It is very sturdy.
So far the only real challenge I have noticed is for shorter people (I would say under 5 1/2 feet tall) in that the center storage compartment will be blocked by the seat. The seat does have settings to adjust for heights in reaching the pedals and when you move it so far forward you end up blocking the storage hatch. At the end of the day not a huge issue for me but something of note.
Overall, I have been very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to others as a fishing kayak.
