Refund policy

We are committed to delivering high-quality products and want you to be fully satisfied with your Reel Yaks purchase.


14-Day Return Window (Used & Tested Products)

You may request a return for a refund within 14 days of receipt, subject to the conditions below.

It is the responsibility of the buyer, upon delivery, to thoroughly inspect all goods for any damage prior to signing. Returned merchandise must be in original condition and free from damage beyond reasonable inspection and testing.

Customers are responsible for testing the kayak within the 14-day return period. Any claims relating to leaks, structural issues, or steering performance must be identified and reported within this timeframe. We do not accept responsibility for such issues reported after the 14-day period has lapsed.

To qualify for a return with an on water test up to 14 days:

  • The product must be returned in original packaging and resellable condition
  • There must be no signs of wear, or use beyond an initial water test inspection
  • The customer must provide clear photos and video evidence of the kayak in its unused condition and in original packaging as part of the return request
  • Returns will not be approved until this evidence has been reviewed and accepted by our team
  • The return must pass our inspection and video verification process upon receipt before a refund is processed

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • Change of mind
  • Shipping delays, as delivery timelines may be impacted by factors outside of our control

Trolling Motors & Mounts (Strict Non-Return Conditions)

Due to the nature of these products and their inability to be resold as new once handled or exposed to environmental conditions, the following strict conditions apply:

  • Any trolling motor or motor mount that has been unboxed, unpacked, or removed from its original sealed packaging may be subject to inspection and may not qualify for return
  • Any trolling motor or motor mount that has been assembled, partially assembled, or had installation attempted (including test fitting, mounting alignment, or attachment to any kayak or surface) is deemed used and is non-refundable
  • Any trolling motor or motor mount that has been exposed to water, moisture, humidity, or outdoor conditions of any kind (including but not limited to freshwater, saltwater, spray, rain, or damp environments) is deemed used and is strictly non-refundable
  • Any item showing signs of installation, tool marks, fastening, wiring connection, grease transfer, residue, or environmental exposure will be classified as used and rejected for return
  • Any trolling motor or mount returned without original, intact packaging, protective materials, manuals, and all included components will not be eligible for a refund
  • We will charge a 10% restocking fee for any Bixpy return, this is mandated by Bixpy our partner providing the motor.

Eligibility Requirement (Unused Condition Only):

  • The item must remain factory-sealed, unused, and in brand-new, resellable condition
  • Packaging must be unopened and undamaged, with all seals intact
  • The item must not have been handled in a way that affects its resale as new

Inspection & Determination:

All trolling motors and mounts are subject to strict inspection upon return, including:

  • Photo and video documentation
  • Packaging integrity verification
  • Physical condition assessment

If an item fails inspection:

  • The return will be rejected, and
  • The item may be returned to the customer at their expense or held pending further instruction

No Exceptions Policy:

No exceptions will be made for:

  • Test fits or attempted installation
  • Brief or one-time water use
  • Claims of light use
  • Any environmental exposure

If an item is damaged in transit, we will work with you to provide a replacement.


Extended 30-Day Return (Unused Items Only)

In addition to our 14-day return window, Reel Yaks may accept returns up to 30 days from delivery strictly for unused products.

To qualify for a return between days 15–30:

  • The kayak must be unused and not have been placed in water
  • The product must be returned in original packaging and resellable condition
  • There must be no signs of assembly, wear, or use beyond initial inspection
  • The customer must provide clear photos and video evidence of the kayak in its unused condition as part of the return request
  • Returns will not be approved until this evidence has been reviewed and accepted by our team
  • The return must pass our inspection and video verification process upon receipt before a refund is processed

Returns that do not meet these criteria will be declined.

For clarity, any kayak that has been used on the water must be reported within the initial 14-day return period to be eligible for a refund.


Parts & Component Issues

In the event of breakage or functional issues relating to individual components (including but not limited to latches, steering systems, seating, or similar parts), refunds will not be provided. We will work with you to supply appropriate replacement parts under our support process.


Return Process

To initiate a return, you must contact us to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. This must be clearly displayed on the outside of the returned package.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Return shipping costs
  • Any applicable restocking and inspection fees

Sale Items (if applicable)

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Sale items are non-refundable.


Exchanges (if applicable)

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. To request an exchange, please contact us via our contact page.


In Transit

Once an item has been shipped and tracking or a bill of lading (BOL) has been provided, refunds will not be issued until the product has been returned and received by us.


Return Inspection & Abuse Prevention

All returned items are subject to a comprehensive inspection process upon receipt before any refund will be considered. This includes video documentation of the unboxing and condition of the returned product to verify that it is in original, unused, and resellable condition.

Reel Yaks reserves the right to decline any return or refund where:

  • The product is not returned in a sellable condition
  • There are signs of use beyond reasonable inspection/testing
  • The return does not meet the criteria outlined in this policy

We have observed instances of products being used for short-term purposes (including holiday or weekend use) and subsequently returned. Where we reasonably suspect that a product has been used beyond legitimate testing or purchased with the intent of temporary use, we reserve the right to deny the return and/or refund.

All return determinations are made at our sole discretion, acting reasonably and in accordance with this policy.
