Find the Perfect Kayak for Your Adventure

If you want one safe pick that works for most anglers, start with a 10ft model in the Prop Drive lineup. It’s positioned as an all-purpose fishing platform with strong capacity, and it sits in the core “Propeller Pedal Drive” range.

Recommended:

The 9.5ft models are the easiest to transport and store, making them ideal for apartments and small vehicles.

Recommended model:

9.5ft Raptor (Fin or Prop Drive)

10ft Raider (Prop Drive)

For anglers prioritizing stability and deck space, consider:

14 ft Raptor - is best suited for customers needing maximum length and load capacity, but has fewer upgrade options.

Yes. Several models are designed for solo or tandem use.

Yes. Select Reel Yaks models support Bixpy motor bundles, allowing pedal‑only use or future motor upgrades. The Recon has a rudder underneath and rear stern mount making it the easiest to attach a fixed motor too.

Everything You Need to Know About Kayaks

No. Reel Yaks kayaks are hard‑shell HDPE modular fishing kayaks, offering rigidity, durability, and true on‑water performance without the storage drawbacks of traditional kayaks.

Yes. Reel Yaks kayaks are designed with wide, stable hulls and flat standing areas suitable for standing and casting, depending on conditions and load.

Assembly is designed to be fast and tool-free. The sections lock together, and you’re typically ready to launch in minutes once you’ve done it a couple of times.

Fin drive systems perform well in shallow or weedy water and are lighter, but do not offer reverse.Prop drive systems provide forward and reverse, making them ideal for fishing around structure and docks. If unsure, prop drive is generally the most versatile choice.

Yes — they’re designed for lakes and rivers, and many anglers use them in coastal/ocean conditions too. If you use saltwater, rinse the drive and hardware after every trip.

Yes. The platform is designed to be customizable with track-mounted accessories and optional upgrades (like different seat styles and motor bundles on some setups).

Quick rule:

  • Smaller (9.5ft): easiest to store and transport.
  • Mid (10ft–10.8ft): best “all-around” balance and large load capacity for most anglers.
  • Longer (14ft): more room and capacity, better for bigger loads or two-person setups.

No — that’s the point of modular. You can carry the sections in your vehicle and assemble at the launch.

Fin drive systems use flexible fins that move side to side. They’re quieter and perform better in shallow water and vegetation, but they do not have reverse, so backing up requires using a paddle.

Prop drive systems use a rotating propeller. They offer forward and reverse, better maneuverability, and more precise control, but are less suitable for very shallow or weedy areas.

In short: choose fin drive for shallow, weedy waters and simplicity, and prop drive for maximum control and reverse capability.

At the moment, we do not have local dealers that carry kayaks in stock. While we are partnered with Walmart and TSC, they do not hold inventory due to the size of the kayaks.
