The Recon splits into two halves — front about 63″ × 35″ × 11″ and back about 63″ × 35″ × 12.5″. Both fit in the trunk or back seat of most SUVs and many hatchbacks. Yes. The Recon's 35-inch wide W-hull is one of the most stable in the modular kayak category for standing casts. Most anglers up to about 230 lbs can stand and fish comfortably in calm to moderate water.

Yes. The Recon has a built-in transducer recess in the hull that accepts standard puck transducers from Lowrance, Garmin, Humminbird, and others — no drilling required. Mount dimensions are 1.77″ × 2.16″ × 0.82″. A deep battery box and cockpit storage hatch let you run a full electronics setup from day one.

A few areas I noted could be improved, 1st the rudder shaft the brass fitting inside seems to be just pressed in so if you tighten it to much it pops out. This happened to me on the 1st trip because as I was packing up to go home the rudder had side to side play so tightened it up a little & out it came. I feel some type of retainer to stop that would be nice. 2nd is a small issue with me the front hatch I would of like to see a tighter seal or a way to tighten the cord ontop to secure the hatch more. That's really it, I love the seat, the width makes it very stable, it maneuvers well with both paddles & the fin drive. I did ditched the short paddles it came with & used the large fishing ones I already had. All in all I'm very happy & if I had to I would purchase again.
