4.72 out of 5 stars · Based on 18 verified reviews of the 13.8ft Rocket Propeller Drive Tandem & Solo Modular Fishing Kayak | Propeller Drive | 550lbs Capacity | 3 Piece.
Kayak is great. Communication about shipping (which was lightening fast) was less than ideal. I ordered tandem Rocket. Two pieces came fast (much faster than when I ordered tandem online) and it was never made clear that the middle section would be shipped from a different shipper than the other two sections (at different times). The other disappointment was the total inaccuracy of the online "car fit tool" that said my tandem would "fit with room to spare" into my 2025 RAV4 (which it does NOT). Even more disappointing was Reel yaks customer service response to my inquiry about this "fit tool" which implied I should have measured these components myself. Ugggg.
Looks great, but I have not received it yet.
I have the 9.8 ft rocket propellor version and I love it I’ve only used it in lakes and rivers and have gone 15 miles in a day no problem max speed with no current if your pushing hard is about 5ish mph It’s a great fishing rig The propellor does catch on weeds really easily but you can back pedal a few times and usually you can clear it I have had problems with screws coming loose, my propellor came of when I was about a mile away from the boat ramp so always keep paddles with you, I reached out to the company and they sent a free replacement then I used locktite when installing it so hopefully that won’t be an issue in the future When I first got the kayak the propeller drive didn’t fit in the slot and I had to file down one of the locks to make it fit, also the prop locks don’t hold it down perfectly so there’s a little bit of wiggle Overall Its treated me great I’ve probably gone 200+ miles on it and have caught its weight in fish-it’s been a game changer being able to fit a 10ft kayak that I can stand up on inside my car is amazing and I’ve never worried about it coming apart it feels very secure It’s my first pedal drive kayak so I have nothing to compare it to but it’s been a game changer for my fishing Quality 7/10 Customer service 10/10 Fun 10/10
I purchased the 9.8ft Rocket Propeller Drive Modular Pedal Fishing Kayak, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Every single feature on this kayak has exceeded my expectations. It’s clear a lot of thought went into the design—from performance to convenience. The modular two-piece build makes transport and storage incredibly easy, even for someone with limited garage space. Snapping the pieces together is simple and secure. The pedal drive system is smooth and efficient, giving me hands-free operation while fishing—an absolute game changer. Stability is top-notch. Whether casting, reeling in, or just cruising, I feel completely confident on the water. The 400lb capacity easily handles my gear without affecting performance. The adjustable seating is surprisingly comfortable for long outings, and the built-in storage options are more than enough for all my tackle and accessories. What really impressed me was the attention to detail—from rod holders to the hull design that tracks well and handles chop effortlessly. This kayak is truly built with the angler in mind. If you're considering this kayak, stop thinking and just go for it. It’s well-built, well-equipped, and a total joy to use. Thank you, Reelyaks, for delivering such an exceptional product!
Purchased from vendor website in ocean blue with prop drive system, with additional tandem seat. I like the kayak. I have been fishing once with it. I intend to add some keel tape on the bottom and take it out again on the water within 3 weeks. I bought a modular kayak so that for the 1-person mode; 2-piece, trip to the lake .... I can fit it into my Hyundai Elantra GT 2020. My parents aren't fans of roof racks.
